Sourav Ganguly said, ‘Ranbir Kapoor is not playing the role of Sourav in my biopic. This is misinformation. Ranveer is coming to Kolkata to promote his new movie. That’s why I will meet.’
Sourav Ganguly denied Ranbir Kapoor’s role as Sourav in the biopic. The former cricketer said that Ranbir is not doing his biopic.
In an exclusive interview to News18, Sourav clarified, “Ranveer’s arrival in Kolkata is for the promotion of his new movie ‘Tu Jhuti Mai Makkar’. It has nothing to do with the biopic about me.”
Earlier when news of Sourav’s biopic first surfaced, Sourav had said that he wanted Ranbir Kapoor in his biopic. Since then, the news of Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Sourav on the big screen started to be speculated. According to sources, Ranveer was approached by the production house to play the role of Sourav. But he did not take up the project due to his busy shooting schedule. So an alternative person is being considered in the role of Sourav. From Hrithik Roshan to Vicky Kaushal, many names are on that list. Now it seems that it took a little longer than Saurabh to know who will be seen in the role of Sourav on the screen!
Sourav’s biopic will be made by ‘Luv Ranjan’ productions. However, their next movie Ranveer’s ‘Tu Jhuti Mai Makkar’ is currently awaiting release. This meeting of Ranveer with Sourav is for strong promotion by the initiative of the production house.
